Michigan: Reporter Mike Householder and photographer Carlos Osorio, based in Detroit, produced an emotional story on Travis Mills’ return to his Michigan hometown for the first time after losing all four limbs in Afghanistan. Householder and Osorio spent time with Mills and his family at his parents’ house, chronicling tender moments between Mills and his 1-year-old daughter and with his dad as he helped the soldier with his “home legs,” his prosthesis for moving around at home.
