Retired Kentucky Bureau Chief Inducted into Journalism Hall of Fame

Howard E. (Ed) Staats, is one of six journalists with Kentucky ties who will be inducted into the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame on April 8.

Staats, 63, for 41 years was a reporter, editor and administrator in 10 offices of The Associated Press throughout the United States. Staats retired in 2002, after 18 years as Kentucky COB. He and his wife, Charlene, reside in Crestwood near Louisville.

The Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame was established in 1980 by the University of Kentucky Journalism Alumni Association to recognize individuals, living or dead, who are natives of Kentucky or who have spent a significant portion of their careers in Kentucky. (Mar. 7, 2003)
