  Terry Prather of The Ledger-Independent is the winner of the AP Photo of the Month for December.  His photo shows Dover volunteer firefighter Jackie Wheeler spraying water at a 1879 log cabin in South Ripley west of Maysville, KY, as the flames create a ghostly image Monday, Dec. 11, 2006.  A wood burning stove may have been the cause of the blaze which destroyed one end of the historic structure.

 

 


 
 
Ernest Coleman of The Kentucky Enquirer, is the winner of the AP Photo of the Month for November.  His photo shows Scuba Santa placing his hand on the glass as Elizabeth Richardson, 4 and her brother Kyle, 2 of Baltimore, MD look on Friday Nov. 24, 2006, in Newport, KY at the Newport Aquarium.

 
Joe Imel of The Daily News is the winner of the AP Photo of the Month for October, which also won Photo of the Year for 2006.  His picture shows Bowling Green policy office Erik Woodward, from left, Maj. Joe Manning and officer Beldon Parry walking away from the scene of a shooting Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, where a Bowling Green police officer and a suspect (on the ground in the background left) were killed.

 

 

 



 
Clay Jackson of The Advocate-Messenger is the winner of the AP Photo of the Month for September.  His photo shows Danville's Cam Slone holding onto his market lamb at the Boyle County 4-H/FFA Annual Investment in Youth Livestock Sale, Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, at the Boyle County Stockyards in Danville, KY.



 
David Stephenson of the Lexington Herald-Leader is the winner of the AP Photo of the Month for August.  His photo shows Chief Deputy Richard A. Head, right, with the Fayette County Sheriff's Dept., as he helps direct family members who were arriving to get more information at the terminal of Bluegrass Airport, in Lexington where Comair Flight 5191 crashed on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006.


 
Terry Prather of The Ledger-Independent is the winner of the AP Photo of the Month for July.  His photo shows Kathryn Tower as she surfaces and shakes the water from her hair at the Washington Pool in Mason County, KY Monday, July 31, 2006, as the afternoon temperatures approached the mid 90's while the heat index reached triple digits.
