The unit addresses journalists’ requests for information about AP and handles broadcasters’ requests to present AP reporters and executives on the air. AP’s Probe Into NYPD Intelligence Operations

Since August, AP has been publishing stories from its ongoing investigation into secret intelligence operations set up by the New York Police Department following the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks.

Matt Apuzzo, Adam Goldman, Chris Hawley and Eileen Sullivan were named winners of the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting for the series.
