Brooks Becomes New NJAPBA President  

Al Brooks of WWZY-FM has become president of the New Jersey Associated Press Broadcasters Association.

Brooks succeeds Walt Kane of News 12-New Jersey, whose one-year term ended after the group's annual meeting and awards luncheon in South Brunswick on May 10.

Members selected Terry Sheridan of WBGO-FM as president-elect.  Sheridan will assist Brooks in planning the group's 2009 meeting.

The May 10 meeting featured a presentation by John Keefe of WNYC-FM on how to generate audience discussion online and on the air. Joe Lenski also explained how exit polls are gathered and tabulated for the general election.
