Panel discussion on civil liberties in a time of heightened security concerns.. Participants, confirmed or tentative: John Solomon, assistant chief of bureau, The Associated Press,Washington, D.C.; Gen. Joe Tinkham, director of Maine's homeland security office; A deputy to U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft; a representative of the Maine Civil Liberties Union.

Journalism that matters: Author and consultant Peggy Hollman opens a two-part exploration of what motivates journalists and what it takes for newsrooms to do great work. The conversation continues Saturday. Details of the program designed for APME.

from the south:
Interstate 95 north to York/Ogunquit Exit 4 to Route 1.
North 3.3 miles on Route 1.
Right on River Road, 1 mile.
Left on Shore Rd, 3.5 miles.

from the north:
Maine Turnpike South to Wells Exit.
Left after toll booth onto Route 109 to Route 1 South to Ogunquit.
At center of town, bear left on Shore Road, 3 miles.
