How I got the picture

Cram:

"It started out being a frustrating morning for me. I knew the morning commute was going to be tough due to the predictions of a HUGE snowstorm. I had planned on getting up at 5 a.m. to start shooting.

"First of all, I should've known better, but I didn't back into my driveway the night before. There was a foot of snow and still falling so I inched my way out...backwards. After at least 45 minutes of this, I finally made it to the street.

"I was stuck in the snowbank there, and as I looked down the street, I saw this woman walking alone. I don't know where she was walking to so early in a nor' easter, but it was such a peaceful scene. The plows had not been by and it seemed surreal. I grabbed my camera, made the image, and returned to my task of getting unstuck."
