How I got the picture: Steve Hooper

Hooper heard of the accident on a portable scanner while about two miles away:

"I basically drove to the scene, loading my camera while driving. "I got to there just as the fire rescue personnel were arriving and was able to position myself behind the victim. I actually waited for a minute before I felt I could get some good action.

It's one of the few cases where I've been able to beat the rescue personnel to the scene."
