How I got the picture
Moore:
"It was one of those miserable days where the auto focus won't work and it's a constant struggle to keep the lens and viewfinder clear.
"I just prayed that luck would be on my side. Just give me one good frame!"
Honorable mentions went to Steve Hooper of the Keene Sentinel for an Oct. 8 shot of Keene Police Officer Steven Russo moving spectators back from a stand-off scene, and to Lucian Read of the Journal Tribune in Biddeford, Maine, for a clamdigger silhouetted by the rising sun Oct. 1 in Biddeford Pool.
