How I got the picture

Himsel:
"The pilot and passengers put it down in a local golf course after experiencing engine trouble. It left a trail of debris as it came down, a wheel here and an engine there, coming to rest at the edge of on end of the course. No one was seriously injured...

"We wanted to do a follow up piece the next day so I went over. It's right down the street from our main office in Hudson. As I pulled down the course driveway I could see the plane in the distance, police tape still up, and people practicing their putting in an area close to the road and driving range a distance away. I thought I could make a shot from there if the depth of field allowed the plane to show enough. It would give a sense of place and, well, was kind of funny in a way. It worked."
