"While standing at the road block with the rest of the media, I noticed a couple of volunteer firefighters hitching up their rescue boat to their truck. I decided to take a chance and follow the firefighters to an area that was free of the media mob. The gamble paid off as the firefighters knew of a family and two horses that needed to be rescued from the rising river. "
