Joel Anderson
Joel Anderson, 25, joined the Oklahoma staff in August
2003 as sports editor. He comes to Oklahoma City from the AP's Dallas bureau,
where he had worked since January 2001.
He graduated from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth in December 2000 with
a B.A. in news-editorial journalism. For his first two years at the school, he
was a reserve running back on the Horned Frogs'
football team.
Joel has been an intern for the Fort Worth-Star Telegram and shortly thereafter
worked part-time in the newspaper's sports department. He later interned with
the AP in his hometown of Houston, Texas.
In Dallas, he had the opportunity to cover events ranging from the space shuttle
breakup over East Texas to NBA playoff games.
When he's not at work, Joel likes reading, playing pickup basketball, wasting
time on video games and learning how to box. Most of these hobbies, by the way,
are the same ones he's had since he was 10-years-old.
