NEW YORK -- Karen Testa, day supervisor for The Associated Press in Boston, has been named the AP's news editor for Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

The appointment was announced Jan. 30 by Boston-based David Marcus, the AP's chief of bureau for southern New England.
