Stacy named AP correspondent for Tampa
MIAMI -- Mitch Stacy, a newsman for The Associated Press in
Tampa, has been named correspondent in charge of the AP bureau
in Tampa.
The promotion was announced Jan. 19 by Florida Chief of Bureau
Jim Baltzelle.
Stacy joined the AP in London in 1998, after working as a
reporter, columnist and editor for The Gainesville Sun. He
also worked as a reporter for the Sarasota Herald-Tribune,
The Journal in Lorain, Ohio, and The Daily Jeffersonian in
Cambridge, Ohio.
After returning to the United States, he joined the AP in
Atlanta in 2001 and moved to Tampa in 2002.
A native of Dayton, Ohio, Stacy is a graduate of Ohio University.
