Geller named AP national writer
NEW YORK -- Adam Geller, a business
writer for The Associated Press since 2000, has been named
an AP national writer, based in New York.
Jerry Schwartz, editor of AP NewsFeatures, announced the appointment
on April 6.
As a business writer, Geller has covered labor, employment
and workplace issues. He has produced stories about a company
that struggled to recover from the Sept. 11 attack on the
World Trade Center, the use of illegal workers to clean Wal-Mart
stores, and what happened at one company when a male executive
became a female.
His work has been recognized by the Society of American Business
Editors and Writers, the National Headliners Awards and the
National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association.
A graduate of Indiana University, he has been a reporter for
The Record of Bergen County, N.J., The Tampa (Fla.) Tribune
and the Chillicothe (Ohio) Gazette. He also worked as a freelance
writer and English teacher in Japan.
