NEW YORK -- The Associated Press today announced the completion of its sale of the assets of Capitolwire, a service in Pennsylvania that provides state capital news and legislative tracking information, to GovNetPA, Inc.

The AP has operated the subscription-based service for trade associations, lobbyists and other professionals since acquiring it in August 2002. Capitolwire is based in Harrisburg, Pa.

GovNetPA, also based in Harrisburg, is best known for its legislative tracking service and has operated in Pennsylvania since 2002. Subscribers of Capitolwire's service originating from Pennsylvania will see no immediate changes, said Craig Leach, president of GovNetPA and the new owner of the service.
