Christina Almeida appointed AP news editor for Montana, Wyoming
NEW YORK -- Christina Almeida, night supervisor in the Los
Angeles bureau of The Associated Press, has been named AP's
news editor for Montana and Wyoming.
The appointment was announced June 5 by Denver Bureau Chief
Jim Clarke, who oversees Montana and Wyoming.
Almeida joined the news cooperative in 2001 in San Diego and
transferred later that year to Los Angeles. She moved in 2003
to the AP's Las Vegas bureau, where she worked for two years
covering state politics and courts.
She returned to Los Angeles in 2005 as a growth and development
reporter before becoming night supervisor last year.
A native of Los Angeles, Almeida graduated in 2001 from the
University of Southern California with bachelor's degrees
in print journalism and political science.
