Spencer appointed AP news editor for Florida
MIAMI -- Veteran journalist Terry
Spencer has been named Florida news editor for The Associated
Press.
The appointment was announced Aug. 31 by Florida Chief of
Bureau Jim Baltzelle.
Spencer, who has been interim news editor since March, had
been a supervisor in the Miami bureau since 2001. He replaces
Andrew Fraser, who was promoted to assistant chief of bureau
in Philadelphia.
Spencer began his journalism career in 1987 as a reporter
at the Los Angeles Times. He also has worked at The Desert
Sun of Palm Springs, Calif., the Los Angeles Daily News and
The News Journal of Wilmington, Del. He joined the AP in October
1999.
A native of Los Angeles, Spencer is a 1987 graduate of California
State University, Fullerton.
