David Hammer appointed
Washington AP regional reporter for Ohio
COLUMBUS, Ohio
-- David Hammer, a newsman in Little Rock, Ark., since 2003,
has been named Washington regional reporter for Ohio for The
Associated Press.
The appointment was announced Sept. 14 by Eva Parziale, Ohio
chief of bureau.
Hammer's beats have included the activities of former President
Clinton, the construction and opening of the Clinton Library,
national politics in Arkansas and Hispanic issues. He also
covered retired Gen. Wesley Clark's presidential campaign
and the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston.
Hammer previously spent five years as a sports, business and
politics reporter at The Republican-American of Waterbury,
Conn. He also was sports editor at the Holyoke (Mass.) Sun.
He is a 1997 graduate of Harvard College.
