Doug Whiteman named AP broadcast editor for Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Doug Whiteman, a business news anchor and consumer news reporter for AP Radio, has been named Associated Press broadcast editor for Ohio.

The appointment was announced Sept. 14 by Eva Parziale, Ohio chief of bureau.


Whiteman joined the AP in 1994 at the Broadcast News Center in Washington, first as a general news anchor, writer and producer. He settled into the BNC's business news department the following year.


Before joining AP, Whiteman worked for the Unistar Radio Network, WCKY-AM in Cincinnati, NBC Radio and WEBR-AM in Buffalo, N.Y.


He is a native of Erie, Pa., and a graduate of Fordham University in New York City.
