Planner, a comprehensive future events database, allows users
to track upcoming events
NEW YORK -- The
Associated Press has launched AP Planner, a comprehensive
future events database. AP Planner is a research and planning
tool with information on more than 35,000 events in 100-plus
categories that is continuously searchable and updated with
real-time information.
AP Planner’s data is indexed by date, category and organization.
Search results include downloadable background information
about events, links to related Web sites and media contact
information. Sample categories of events covered by AP Planner
include press conferences, award ceremonies, financial announcements,
legislative activities, and many more. All events include
date, time, organization, venue, description and contact information.
There is also a function that highlights new items and all
events updated since the last search.
"We expect AP Planner will become an invaluable research
tool for the media, as well as for marketing communications
and strategic planning professionals,” said Jane Seagrave,
AP's vice president for new media markets.
The Associated Press is responsible for overseeing the content
and researchers for AP Planner. AP is working with Advance
Media Information, Ltd., a British-based research company
that has a similar service in the United Kingdom. Marketing
and sales are being coordinated by the AP, Norwalk, Conn.-based
eNR Services, Inc., Business Wire Inc., and Burrelle's Information
Services Inc.
AP Planner is a complement to the AP Daybook and is available
to companies by subscription.
