Steve Quinn named AP's Juneau correspondent in Alaska

NEW YORK -- Steve Quinn, an energy writer for The Associated Press in Dallas, has been promoted to Juneau correspondent in Alaska.

The appointment was announced Nov. 10 by Larry Campbell, chief of bureau for Alaska.

Quinn joined the AP in 2005 in Dallas, coming from the Dallas Morning News where he wrote on work place and health care issues. Quinn has also been a reporter in Michigan, Massachusetts and Florida. He started his career as a sports writer in New Jersey.

Quinn, a native of Cleveland, earned his bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University in 1985 and holds a master's degree in journalism from University of Missouri.
