Berland appointed South Carolina news editor for The Associated
Press
NEW YORK -- Evan Berland, a supervisor
in the Trenton, N.J., bureau of The Associated Press, has
been named AP news editor in South Carolina.
The appointment was announced Dec. 20 by Maryann Mrowca, acting
chief of bureau in South Carolina.
Berland has been day supervisor in Trenton since October 2004.
He joined the AP in Hartford, Conn., in early 1995 and worked
there for nearly four years before leaving in late 1998 as
the bureau's chief political reporter.
A graduate of Brandeis University, Berland was a reporter
at The Middlesex News in Framingham, Mass., before joining
AP.
