Overview

College football is increasing in popularity, drawing a record-setting 49. 7 million fans last year according to the NCAA. In fact, attendance records have been broken five of the last six seasons and there’s no sign of letting up.

The AP College Football Digital News Experience is a ready–to–publish Web content package designed to help you — and your advertisers — reach these passionate fans.

How does the College Football Digital News Experience work?

  • AP editors curate the best of AP’s articles and photos into attractively designed pages and widgets that you can embed on your site.
  • Each  package can be customized with your branding and easily integrated with your site. You can upload your own logo, build your own navigation bar and add analytics code to measure performance. Implementation documentation and customer support are included.
  • Once the site is live, you’ll be able to earn revenue in two different ways: (1) sell your own advertising inventory into the site and keep all revenue from the ads you sell, or; (2) participate in a revenue split with advertising sold by the AP.

What content is included?

AP Top 25 Poll

  • An AP Top 25 Poll page reports the current week’s poll results, as well as previous weeks.
  • The “By Poll Voter” feature shows how each poll voter casts his vote for the entire season.

Compelling Stories and Images

  • View game recaps, game previews, features and breaking news.
  • Photo galleries are displayed for all games covered by the AP, plus exclusive “themed” photo galleries for the site (i.e., Heisman Watch, Crazy Fans, Top 10 Tackles).

Conference and Team destination pages

  • Conference and team pages will aggregate news and information for all Division I teams.
  • Embeddable widgets that can be used on customers’ existing web properties.
  • A “Latest News” list and a “Top 10” poll display that links from the widget to your site.

Local Area Customization

  • You can provide an RSS feed of your own content to include on the homepage. Links go back to the stories on your website.
  • You can also filter AP news by local team, player, coach and other choices to display in an area on the homepage.
  • Select up to five teams to feature in a “Find Your Teams” area on the home page. From here, visitors can navigate to team pages with game recaps, photo galleries and more.
