Born in 2005 during the chaos and destruction following Hurricane
Katrina in the U.S., the AP Emergency Relief Fund aims to
help AP staff and family members worldwide cope with catastrophes and natural disasters.To date, the Fund has distributed nearly 30
grants totaling over $145,000 to staffers and their families.
The Fund relies on the generous and ongoing
support of the extended AP community to ensure it can provide
assistance at a moment’s notice when emergencies strike.

to GIVE
The Fund accepts any and all contributions
throughout the year. Donations have ranged from $10 to
$10,000. Donations can be made by check
or credit card, are tax deductible and matched in full by
The Associated Press.
By Credit or Debit
Card
Through a secure arrangement with PayPal, the electronic funds
transfer company, anyone with a credit card can make an online
donation. You do not need a PayPal account. To get to PayPal click on the "Give" button.
By Check
Make check payable to the AP Emergency Relief Fund. Within
the U.S. and Canada, mail checks to AP Emergency Relief Fund,
The Associated Press, 450 W. 33rd Street, NY, NY 10001. Donations
outside of the U.S. and Canada should be made online by credit
or debit card. If donating by check, be sure to include your
name, address and contact information.
Personalizing Donations
PayPal's online donation site offers the option to include
a note along with your donation, but we cannot distribute
funds to specific individuals.
