There are many reasons college newspapers choose to be a member of the Associated Press:
- To help the staff at college newspapers prepare for careers in an evolving industry. Familiarity with AP content gives student journalists a tool they will use in virtually every professional newsroom.
- AP service can add breadth to news reports, not only through our stories and photos, but as a resource for reporters and editors who want to add sources and context to their reporting of the local stories your readers care about.
- And AP’s rates for college newspapers are heavily discounted to make its services more accessible to schools and students.
For the first time the AP is delivering service through AP Exchange; a new and innovative service which allows your staff -- each of whom has his or her own account -- to see all the stories, photos, graphics and videos in your entitlement in one convenient place and can be used with any computer that has access to the Internet. AP Exchange allows users to easily create and save very detailed searches, and receive e-mailed notifications when we move stories or photos that satisfy the search criteria. This service is free to all AP college members.
AP’s Online Video Network provides Web sites with an easy and free way to add high-quality video while also profiting from growing reader and advertiser interest in video.
