Online Video Network

AP has launched the Online Video Network to provide members an easy way to add high-quality video to member online news sites and to profit from the growing reader and advertiser interest in video online. We provide you with a turn-key service that keeps your Web site's branding. The ad-supported network means members get AP's award-winning coverage at no out-of-pocket cost, in exchange for promoting it. Please contact David Marcus with questions or to join the video network.

Out There!

-- A feature from AP Sports.
A donkey derby in Mexico.
Golfing in Afghanistan.
Oslo correspondent Doug Mellgren writing a first-person account of being at the helm of an America's Cup yacht.
These are all part of a new weekly sports feature offered by The Associated Press.

It's called Out There, and it focuses on adventure and other non-traditional sports ranging from extreme skiing to camel racing to croquet. The stories move as part of the weekend features package that you already receive on the sports wire. Out There is providing more stories of interest to younger readers. It's also appealing to some of our younger writers, many of whom participate in sports that traditionally don't get much attention on the wire.

Seven of the first 10 stories were written by non-sports writers, and five had datelines outside the United States. All stories are accompanied by photos, and some have graphics as well. There also is an Out There logo that was created by the graphics department.

We hope you'll be able to make good use of this enhancement to your AP report.
