             Comment: This was an excellent report but may have fit better in another category.

             It was very clear and informative.

             Comment: I think it exceptional that you put this report together within 24 hrs.

             of the tornado. Your interviews with real people were heartfelt. I'm am glad

             your one subject talked of rebuilding; it's important to offer your listeners hope.

      South Dakota Public Radio, Diane Johns, "Cats Are From Saturn, Dogs Are From Pluto"

             Comment: A truly delightful feature about two very important friends. It is well

             prepared by this radio journalist who apparently enjoys talking with a

             knowledgeable guest. A dash of controversy (depending on one's favorite pet specie)

             but that is journalistic flavor used by an experienced reporter.

      South Dakota Public Radio, Charles Michael Ray, "VW Bug"

             Comment: Charles sculpted a fine radio image of the Volkswagen and Mr. Fletcher,

             one of its previous owners. Over all clarity and craftsmanship are very good.

      KRSD, Cara Hetland, "Dino Find"

             Comment: Clara knows how to edit, interview and polish good subject matter.

             Offered excellent comments from her guests - punctuated with a few good sound

             effects. A very fine report that undoubtedly had appeal for all listeners regardless of

             age.

             Comment: Audio in top story good! And audio throughout newscast is impressive.

             Good variety of stories.

      KORN, J.P. Skelly, "KORN News"

             Comment: Good use of voices and stories from reporters. Use of several voices

             for newscast shows good prep, good organization, makes newscast more

             listener friendly.

             Comment: Excellent use of audio, especially nice that audio was used in top story.

             Good range of subjects covered.

              Comment: Good story. Informative. Delivered well. Writing was well above

              average.

              concerns. Good audio cuts.

              Comment: Good variety of comments, showing the many impacts of growth.

              Comment: Excellent, well-balanced report on a complicated issue. Good audio

              cuts that complimented the story. Good job!

              Comment: Good story. Could be a lot of fun. Interviews are good.

              Comment: Good story. Delivery fits story well. Information is solid.

              Production was adequate for story.

              Comment: 2"d report good audio, easy to relate to. 3" report very well done. Down

              to earth, the kind of thing people like to hear. Entire series is a pertinent subject and

              was well done with evidence of research. An effort to try to tell the whole story.

       KRSD, Cara Hetland and Dan Gunderson, "Ag Lending"

              Comment: The third report was excellent, compelling and really hit home with

              reality.

              Comment: A very pertinent subject. Well presented. Reporters did a nice job of not

              getting opinionated on a subject that could be very controversial.

             Comment: Interesting story. Lots of fascinating information and well presented.

              Comment: The straight forward writing and nice use of sound enhanced the content

              Comment: This is a perfect example of what makes a good feature story. It had good

              Comment: Good hustle on getting still photos for lead story. Program is technically

              good and is helped greatly by a enormously likeable weatherman. Sports guy is a

              solid pro.

              Comment: Great in-depth team report for a lead story. Excellent use of blending

              through out the newscast. Very good technically. Very good field reporters.

              Comment: Great Video! Natural sound very effective.

              Comment: A very important issue, treated in a balanced manner. Great use of video.

              Comment: Very good people stories. Well shot and edited. This is an example of

              great story telling. Something we should strive for.

             Comment: I felt this was a clear winner. Great marriage of writing, appropriate

             video and strong editing. Hits nearly everyone in the audience.

              The report managed the almost unbelievable trick of being both polite and

              assertive. In an earlier, less politically correct era, we would have said "that's the

              gutsiest broad in the state!"
