Miles Cary of the Knoxville News Sentinel is the winner of the December Tennessee member photo contribution of the month for his photo of Knox County Sheriff's Office Deputy Mike Devore arresting Kevin Maples for motor vehicle theft Dec. 5, 2011 in Knoxville, Tenn. According to authorities, Maples is expected to face 22 charges in connection with a scheme in which vehicles were towed from the homes of victims and sold to a scrap yard for $400-$600.

Aaron Hardin of The Jackson Sun is the winner of the Photo of the Month for June 2011. In a June 25, 2011 photo, Reed Mitchell, 10, cleans his father Troy Mitchell's headstone at the Mitchell home on June 25, 2011. Troy Mitchell was killed in 2009. An inmate, Ameale Hudson, was released from the Madison County jail on Oct. 8, 2009, into the community supervision program. Police said he bought the gun used to kill Troy Mitchell the next day.
Henry and Hardin will each receive $100 for their contributions and their photos will be entered into the Photo of the Year contest. Each month the AP selects a Photo of the Month for the best member-submitted news photo shared in cycle.
All photos shot by staff photographers or reporters of AP member newspapers in Tennessee and shared during the same publication cycle in which they were shot are eligible.

Aaron Hardin of The Jackson Sun is the winner of the Tennessee AP Photo of the Month for his picture of Mike Yates taking a break from flood recovery in his office at Counter Solutions in Jackson, Tenn. on April 29, 2011. Dozens of roads were closed because of downed trees and power lines, hundreds were homeless and tens of thousands were without power after the most devastating storm to hit the state since Feb. 5, 2008.
