Connecting with the culture of Mie Prefecture

The goal
During the G7 Ise-Shima summit in Mie Prefecture, Japan, the Mie Citizens Council sought to encourage travel and tourism through compelling visual content that would capture the historical and spiritual attractions of the region, so they enlisted AP Content Services to create custom photos and videos.
Mie Citizens Council helps promote Mie Prefecture, a region often referred to as the Spiritual Heart of Japan due to its beautiful coastline, mountain views and important sites from Japanese spiritual history.

Content strategy and creation
Our team captured 45 custom images of Mie Prefecture’s adventurous side, historical and spiritual attractions and luxury experiences. They also produced four newsroom-ready videos and four consumer-ready produced videos, each highlighting tourist attractions centered around a specific theme.

Distribution and amplification
To expand the reach of the series, the videos were distributed to our worldwide media network through the AP video platforms, and images were distributed directly to our network of media subscribers, as well as through apimages.com.
The series received additional amplification through sponsored tweets from the @AP Twitter handle, and the content was also made available for download on our AP Content Services Multimedia Newsroom platform.
