Washington DC, USA

Operational date(s):

April 3, 2019 to April 4, 2019

NATO foreign ministers will gather in Washington on 3-4 April to mark the 70th anniversary of the world’s biggest security alliance.

AP brings you a range of services tailored to your needs.

The meeting will be marked by tension with Russia unseen since the Cold War and plagued by infighting, exacerbated by U.S. President Donald Trump, over how much to spend on military budgets.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg concedes there are a few spats but insists the 29 allies are united on the need to defend each other, particularly when faced with an assertive Russia. The alliance is expected to announce a series of measures to counter Russia in the Black Sea.

Stoltenberg will address the US Congress on Wednesday. On Thursday, along with all NATO foreign ministers, he will mark the anniversary of the signing of NATO's founding Washington Treaty at the State Department.
