‘Miracle on the Hudson’ legacy: 70,000 slain birds

Jake Pearson, reporter, New York City, for an exclusive analysis that showed New York City’s airports had intentionally killed nearly 70,000 geese and other birds since the 2009 ‘Miracle on the Hudson’ river landing. Despite the program, Pearson also found that the number of bird strikes on airplanes had risen markedly in the six years since the accident.
