Maryland chancellor peddles jewelry to other colleges

Brian Witte, statehouse correspondent, Annapolis, for revealing the news that the chancellor of the University of Maryland pitched charm bracelet sales to other colleges for a friend, drawing an ethics complaint. Upon learning of the AP’s pending story, the Board of Regents called a special closed meeting and instituted changes in oversight. The story got solid play, including The Baltimore Sun, which ran it on its home page.
