Chronicling the flood of US jobless claims

David Lieb, state government reporter, Jefferson City, Missouri, and a network of statehouse reporters anticipated the flood of jobless claims that were inundating state unemployment offices, aggressively reporting on astronomical increases in unemployment, including examples like Pennsylvania’s 70,000 new claims in one day.
