Starting today and running through March 4, users of AP Mobile, the award-winning mobile application from The Associated Press, can access an array of coverage about the Academy Awards, including news from the Los Angeles Times.

In addition to AP’s robust multiformat coverage of Hollywood’s biggest night, updates, red carpet photos and more from The Times will be featured. The AP and Times content will appear on separate home screen tiles on AP Mobile applications running on iOS and Android devices.

“We’re working closely with our members and local content providers to showcase a selection of their unique content for an even wider audience,” said Michael Boord, global director of mobile products at AP. “We’re pleased to feature Los Angeles Times’ coverage of the Oscars as part of the mix.”

AP Mobile recently featured an in-depth, interactive series on the ocean produced by The Seattle Times, reports on Bonnaroo and the CMA Music Festival from The Tennessean and news about the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy from The Dallas Morning News.

AP Mobile is available as a free download at the Apple iTunes or the Google Play app stores. Since its release in 2008, AP Mobile has been downloaded more than 12.5 million times.
