Our diversity statement

We are committed to creating an open-minded workforce comprised of individuals of different backgrounds

The Associated Press values a workforce that embodies diverse visions and diverse voices. We support a work environment that is inclusive of all people as our diversity contributes to our innovation and continued success, keeping AP at the forefront of the news media industry.

Our Staffing & Diversity team partners with AP executives and hiring managers to identify top talent and optimize presence at diversity conferences and in professional diversity associations. We welcome talented professionals from all race, creed, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender and gender identity, disability and military backgrounds. We have partnered with and hired employees from organizations such as the Asian American Journalists Association, National Association of Black Journalists, National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Native American Journalists Association, National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association and the Society of Professional Journalists.

We foster a cohesive work environment and hiring managers are trained on the importance of diversity as a business imperative to ensure the continued success of our departments. Our efforts are inherently important so staff can thrive while allowing their unique perspectives to positively impact the growth of the company.
