The Associated Press and TVN Agency, part of Poland’s leading media group, have a signed an agreement for the distribution of AP video news content in the Polish digital market.
The agreement will make AP’s international news video and extensive entertainment and feature coverage available via TVN Agency effective Nov. 24. To maximize relevance to the Polish market, at least 120 clips per month will be selected by TVN Agency’s newsroom and will receive Polish voiceovers or subtitles. TVN’s X-news clients will be able to download or embed the clips.
Alwyn Lindsey, AP’s vice president of sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “The Polish digital market is crying out for a broader selection of international news content which is localized for Polish viewers. By partnering with TVN, which has an incredible reputation in Poland, we are able to meet this need and better serve both digital news providers and Polish audiences.”
Maciej Maciejowski, member of the board at TVN Media, said: “The agreement with AP greatly strengthens the position of TVN Agency as the leading supplier of professional video news content for the Polish digital market. X-news service is the main source of Polish and international video news stories for Polish online media.”
Anna Kęsicka, director of TVN Agency, added: “AP’s international video is unrivaled and perfectly complements other content that we currently offer. This allows TVN Agency to meet the full requirements of our digital news customers and underscores TVN Agency’s reputation as the first source of ‘breaking news’ video.”
