Race and voting reporter Ayanna Alexander, video journalist Cody Jackson and freelance photographer Gary McCullough in Jacksonville, Florida, teamed up on a multiformat package highlighting an issue that is typically under covered at the national level: the effects of gerrymandering on local governments. The package also included two efforts to help AP members localize the issue, overseen by Katie Oyan, AP’s deputy director of local news success.
