Recognizing an opportunity to hear directly from players who had not spoken to international media, Hamra began contacting team officials as soon as the camp was announced and continued pressing his case after arriving to photograph the team’s preparations.
A breakthrough came when officials decided to close the final training sessions to the media. Hamra successfully argued for continued access, and once inside renewed his request for interviews.
