Cape Verde played Spain to a scoreless draw in Atlanta on Monday as the small island nation off the western coast of Africa made its World Cup debut. The fifth day of soccer’s global showcase also saw draws between Belgium and Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay, and Iran and New Zealand.
