Americans value press freedom, but new surveys show support for restrictions in certain cases

Most Americans value press freedom but also support limits on reporting in specific circumstances, such as protecting national security. According to a Pew Research Center study published Tuesday, many Americans want limits on government intervention too, with few saying it's acceptable for the government to routinely force journalists to reveal sources' identities or revoke broadcast licenses.
