Mideast Wars Gaza Children

The lack of aid, a decimated health sector and poor living conditions in Gaza 21 months into the war have had horrific consequences for those who live there, with children among the most affected.

Sarah El Deeb, Mariam Dagga and Wafaa Shurafa sought to tell the story through the eyes of a single family.

El Deeb attended a webinar of medical doctors discussing deteriorating health conditions in Gaza, where the cases of malnourished kids, including Amr al-Hams, were discussed. She connected with the 3-year-old boy’s family, who survived an Israeli strike that killed his pregnant mother and two brothers.

The text El Deeb, photos and video taken by Mariam Dagga and strong production and edit by Wafaa Shurafa delivered a powerful story of the sometimes unseen of the war.
