NEW YORK -- The Associated Press today released a major redesign of its popular, award-winning app, AP Mobile, which improves users’ ability to access AP breaking news from around the globe and local content from more than 1,100 contributing news providers.
The new app (version 6.0 for iOS) has a bold, visual interface that allows for deeper, faster engagement with the app’s rich coverage of breaking news and major stories of continuing interest. In addition, local content from California to Michigan to Connecticut is more easily accessible and customizable from the home screen. Audio news reports from AP also are fully integrated into the new app experience, among other enhanced features.
“AP Mobile was the first app to put all the news -- from global to local -- in one place. This new version makes it easier for users to access high-quality local content as well as the big, enduring stories that they care deeply about,” said Michael Boord, global director of mobile products.

In addition, the app provides enhanced display for both national and local advertisers.
