AP provided timely, expansive, and engaging coverage of the Cannes Film Festival, meeting the demands of both audiences and customers over 12 packed days of red carpets, premieres, and behind-the-scenes moments.
Working with a small but highly effective team, AP delivered nearly 4,000 photos to the wire, more than 160 video edits—including newsroom packages, digital pieces, and social-friendly content—and 33 text stories, most of them written by Jake Coyle.
Coyle’s text output ranged from fast-turnaround reports on premieres and major festival moments to celebrity interviews and timely explainers. His work included two editions of “Things to Know” and a steady stream of sharp, visually anchored stories, including a widely read gallery of celebrity looks—published after Cannes imposed a ban on nudity and voluminous dresses.
Louise Dixon, Ali Kaufman, Dejan Jankovic, and other Cannes-based photographers and producers ensured coverage remained fast, polished, and visually rich. Their work gave customers a complete, real-time window into one of the world’s most glamorous and influential film events.
