Womens Poll at 50 Basketball

The package tipping off the 50th anniversary of the women’s basketball poll resonated with customers and readers, thanks to a team effort led by Doug Feinberg. Doug’s sources and relationships built over 25 years covering the sport were instrumental in shaping coverage that illustrated how much of an impact the AP Top 25 rankings have had on the game — with fans, coaches, players and media.

It was a true team effort. Data provided by Doug was sorted by Larry Fenn and Angel Kastanis, then transformed into digestible interactives by Darrell Allen, Will Jarrett, Takis Panagiotis and Eva Malek, along with graphics by Jake O’Connell. Dan Derella pulled archive photos dating back to 1976, Sahar Akbarzai edited video shot by Doug that was used in broadcast packages by Ron Vample and Gethin Coolbaugh, and as part of the social promotion pulled together by Sarah Jones-Smith.
