Invision, the multimedia entertainment agency jointly owned by The Associated Press and some of the world’s leading entertainment photographers, will shoot film festivals, premieres and a worldwide array of other marquee industry events for The Hollywood Reporter under a partnership announced today.

Invision will act as the exclusive, credentialed photographer for THR, providing the entertainment industry’s flagship news media brand with compelling coverage of celebrities from the red carpet to the after parties that conclude the industry’s stellar evenings.

The agreement will also permit Invision to license the photos through AP Images, the AP’s commercial photo unit, at APImages.com.

“Since Invision launched in May 2012, we have quickly established ourselves as an aggressive and highly respected photo agency in the entertainment space,” said Dan Becker, managing director of Invision. “We are proud to be working with The Hollywood Reporter, to capture all the excitement and color from events around the globe, and to contribute to a publication that emphasizes great photography.”

Invision images from Cannes to Comic-Con have appeared in leading media outlets around the world.

“Invision’s world-class photographers, combined with AP’s long history of journalistic excellence, will make a perfect partner for The Hollywood Reporter as we continue to build upon our unprecedented access to entertainment industry events and provide a showcase for photography on many platforms,” said Janice Min, editorial director of The Hollywood Reporter.

“This partnership solidifies our standing as a one-stop-shop for all imagery needs,” said Fernando Ferre, vice president of AP Images. “It’s among many new initiatives we’ve undertaken to better serve our customers as we expand the largest collection of images held by any news organization in the world.”

In recent months AP Images has announced agreements with several microstock image companies and renewed its contract with the National Football League to be the exclusive provider of NFL photos for commercial purposes. In addition, AP Images is rolling out a new platform with upgraded e-commerce and search functions to allow customers to more readily capitalize on AP’s vast image offering.
