Powering the AI information era with factual journalism

In a wide-ranging interview with “The Rebooting Show,” Chief Revenue Officer Kristin Heitmann discussed the evolution of AP’s business and how the global news organization is powering today’s AI-driven media ecosystem.

“We are often the first on the ground as eyewitness journalists to report on something. That has been historically important for how people access information from broadcast or newspaper organizations, but it’s important for technology organizations to have the most up-to-date information,” said Heitmann, who spoke with host Brian Morrissey. “The value proposition is the same … You want trusted information, you want reliable information, you want to be able to have someone who actually witnessed an event.”

With over 200 locations around the globe, AP for nearly two centuries has been the backbone of the news ecosystem, providing eyewitness reporting to thousands of news organizations around the globe. Today it is leaning into that on-the-ground reporting. AP earlier this year announced the debut of AP Intelligence, a new offering that transforms its factual journalism into structured, verified data.

“We are a breaking news organization, we are often the source of information,” Heitmann said, “and we know that’s really important in this new AI ecosystem.”
