AP and NFL extend exclusive photo licensing deal

NEW YORK -- The Associated Press and the National Football League today extended their commercial photo agreement, solidifying AP Images’ status as the worldwide commercial licensing agent of the NFL through the 2014-15 season.

This renewal establishes AP Images, the commercial photo unit of AP, as the definitive source for NFL photographs, providing powerful and unique imagery of the NFL experience, the games, the athletes, and special events such as the NFL Draft.

In addition, the AP will be able to offer fans direct access to a range of NFL photo products, from individual prints to large-scale, customizable framed prints through the NFL photo store located at http://nflphotostore.nfl.com, the individual team websites, and the NFL Players Association website.

“We are excited to continue our relationship with the NFL as the exclusive commercial and direct-to-consumer provider for the league,” said Fernando Ferre, vice president of AP Images. “The NFL is the gold standard in professional sports and the Associated Press is honored to be chosen by the league to continue our valuable relationship.”

Kevin LaForce, vice president of media strategy and business development for the NFL added: “The Associated Press has been a great partner to the NFL as the only licensed vendor of official NFL images for commercial purposes. We look forward to them continuing to serve this important role.”
