The Associated Press announced today it has redesigned its subscription-based planning tool AP Planner, providing newsrooms and other organizations that use it with additional resources and an improved search experience.
Developed with Kantar Media, the redesigned AP Planner offers a streamlined search function that yields quicker and more accurate results, technology that helps visualize and filter search result data, and the addition of maps that pinpoint venue locations and nearby events.
It also includes ExpertFile’s online directory of subject matter experts, providing users of AP Planner with the ability to quickly and easily discover experts who can speak to relevant topics. The experts, largely from universities and institutions, are supplied by ExpertFile.
“AP Planner has long been the essential destination for research and planning — a tool used by newsrooms and all kinds of organizations, from agencies to universities. Its new design puts a focus on the content available on AP Planner, and these updates make it much easier for users to surface the information they are looking for,” said Ben Nadler, AP product manager.
AP Planner contains more than 100,000 future events, such as political schedules, financial announcements, trade and consumer conferences, award ceremonies and more. It is used by newsrooms and organizations around the world, including universities, corporations, governments and associations.
