Brazilian publisher Grupo Gol and AP announce content agreement

The Associated Press, the essential global news network, and Brazilian publisher Grupo Gol today announced a collaboration to include AP news, sports, entertainment and business content in Grupo Gol’s Nuvem de Livros (Digital Bookstore) and Nuvem do Jornaleiro (Digital Newsstand) platforms.

Digital Bookstore and Digital Newsstand are providing consumers an easy-to-use, multiplatform-friendly means of consuming content from numerous leading publishers in Latin America and around the world.

For AP, this move is part of the organization’s strategy to make its content available in the places where consumers are looking for it – across platforms and across devices.

“Having content from AP on our platforms will add value for our subscribers and will fit in well with the offerings we have from other providers, both local and international,” said Jonas Suassuna, president and founder of Grupo Gol.

“As the habits and expectations of news consumers evolve, it’s important for AP to have a strong presence across platforms,” said Denis Lacerda, Brazil sales executive for AP. “We think Grupo Gol’s initiatives are reaching users who will appreciate the quality and immediacy of what AP’s journalists produce.”

Digital Bookstore and Digital Newsstand are reaching approximately 3.2 million active subscribers in Brazil on PCs, smartphones and tablets.
